WELCOME TO THE HIGHLAND HALL PARENT ASSOCIATION

The Parent Association (PA)
The Parent Association represents and serves the community of parents at Highland Hall. If you have a child enrolled at the school, you are a member of the Parent Association. As parents, we have actively chosen Waldorf education because we believe it offers the richest, most comprehensive curriculum as well as the most heart-centered philosophy of education in Los Angeles.
Parent involvement is a key aspect of our school:  there are ample opportunities to contribute to the life of the school community.  Waldorf education also offers a unique opportunity to grow and develop as our children grow.

The Parent Association supports the parents and the school in a variety of ways, from events and fundraising to being a voice for parent concerns.  Any of the Parent Association Council welcome your calls and questions; we are happy to share our experiences! Any parent wishing to participate in our monthly meetings is welcome and encouraged to participate.

Parent Association Activities:
Pumpkin Patch: A fun family day in October, led by the Marketing & Outreach Committee, with some classes taking responsibility for one aspect of the celebration, the Pumpkin Patch is truly a school event by and for everyone. Music and dancing, games and storytelling, treats to share and often a puppet play are included. Just for fun - not a fund-raising event! Contact: Yes I'd like to help!

Winter Faire: A themed event in early December, including food, music, fellowship, and lots of wonderful crafts and gifts to buy. Activities for young children and adults alike. Each class helps with some aspect of the event.

May Faire: A spring celebration beginning with the May Pole, music, crafts and food.

Lectures and Discussions: The Parents' Association works to encourage communication between parents and the school administrators and faculty on issues that shape the school. Meetings, usually on a pre-announced topic, are held during the school year.

Highland Hall Waldorf School

Founded in 1955, Highland Hall is the oldest Waldorf school west of the Mississippi. From the young child’s imaginative experiences of discovery and play in our Early Childhood program to the intellectual challenges presented in the High School, learning at Highland Hall is pursued with genuine desire and curiosity.
Through a curriculum of academically challenging lessons, infused with the arts and informed by a unique understanding of a child’s developmental needs -- the hallmark of Waldorf Education -- Highland Hall Waldorf School educates its students to become well-rounded individuals capable of bringing purpose and direction to their lives, ready to think on their own, stand for themselves and act with empathy toward others. To visit the school’s official site, please click here.
